Stella Strings brings together professional Hamilton musicians, each with more than 20 years’ experience performing at weddings and events. From welcoming your guests to accompanying your first dance, we’ll help you bring live music into your day.

Music for the moments that matter
Live strings can bring atmosphere and a personal touch to your wedding day. We can play for individual moments or accompany several parts of your celebration:
- Before the ceremony — welcome your guests as they arrive and settle in.
- Your ceremony — entrances, signing the register and your celebratory exit together.
- Canapés and drinks — live music while you mingle with your guests.
- Your reception — a special entrance for the bridal party or background music during your meal.
- Your first dance — share the moment with a live performance of your chosen song.
We can also accompany moments such as candle lighting, tree planting, communion or cutting the cake.
Whether you have particular songs in mind or would appreciate suggestions, we’ll help you plan how the music fits into your day.

Our repertoire spans classical, pop, jazz, music from films and video games, and more.
You’re welcome to choose particular songs, give us an idea of the styles you enjoy, or leave the selection entirely to us. We’re equally happy working with a detailed wishlist or choosing music to complement your celebration.
If you have a particular song in mind that isn’t listed, ask us—we can discuss sourcing or creating an arrangement and any additional costs.
Quartet, duo or solo?
Choose a string quartet—two violins, viola and cello—for a rich, full sound, a violin and cello duo for an intimate atmosphere, or solo violin or cello for a simple musical touch.
We can help you choose an ensemble to suit your plans.

Tell us your wedding date, venue and the parts of the day you’d like accompanied. We’ll check availability and help you work out the playing time you need.
Our minimum booking is one hour. See our prices page for current fees and information about travel outside Hamilton.
